Siding FAQ
Vinyl or fiber cement?
Vinyl costs less and needs almost no upkeep. Fiber cement costs more, looks closer to real wood, and stands up better to impact and heat. We’ll walk you through both with real samples.
How long does a siding job take?
Most homes take one to two weeks, depending on size, trim details and weather.
Can you replace just one damaged wall?
Yes, if we can match the profile and color. Older siding fades, so a perfect match isn’t always possible; we’ll show you before we start.
Do you handle storm damage claims?
We inspect and document real wind or hail damage and can meet your adjuster. You file the claim with your insurer, and we build to the approved scope.
Do I need a permit?
Some counties require one for re-siding. We check and pull it when needed.
Signs your siding needs replacing
- Cracked, warped, loose or missing panels
- Soft spots or rot in the wall behind the siding
- Peeling paint inside near exterior walls
- Mold or mildew that keeps coming back
- Faded siding that makes the house look tired
Roof, siding and gutters together
The roof, siding and gutters all move water off your house. Planning them together means the flashing and trim tie in correctly, and you deal with one contractor and one schedule.
