Gutters FAQ

5-inch or 6-inch gutters?

5-inch gutters handle most Maryland homes. We recommend 6-inch for large or steep roofs, long runs, and spots where water overshoots the gutter in heavy rain.

Are seamless gutters worth it?

Seams are where sectional gutters leak and sag first. Seamless runs only have joints at the corners and downspouts, so there are fewer places to fail.

Do gutter guards really work?

Good micro-mesh guards keep out leaves, pine needles and shingle grit while letting water through. They cut cleaning way down, though no guard is zero-maintenance.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are done in a day.

Should I replace gutters with my roof?

If your gutters are near the end of their life, yes. The drip edge and gutters work together, and doing both at once avoids paying to remove and re-hang gutters later.

Gutter guards

Stop cleaning gutters twice a year

Clogged gutters overflow, rot fascia boards and dump water against your foundation. Micro-mesh guards sit under the first row of shingles and keep debris out while water flows in.

Signs your gutters need attention

  • Water spilling over the edge in heavy rain
  • Gutters pulling away from the fascia or sagging
  • Peeling paint, rot or stains on fascia and soffit
  • Puddles or erosion along the foundation
  • Rust, cracks or leaking seams
